Anything that would be recommended would just be a shot in the dark. Load on a monitoring system is determined by a number of different factors.
If you're wanting just basic snmp polling and ping checks of your servers your current hardware will likely be fine. If you're wanting to do more complex things like monitoring logs, ports, processes, etc... load can vary greatly. For example if you want to monitoring logs on your machines and they are generating on average 100k entries per machine per day, then you'll need much bigger hardware than if you're only getting 100 entries per machine per day.
