I'm having the same problem - cluther (whose help I *greatly* appreciate BTW - the man is a gentleman and a scholar) replied to this thread, but somehow it got split from it.
http://community.zenoss.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=5303 Basically, I've discovered that all the interfaces I'm seeing this for are t1 or t3 controllers, atm controllers, and ethernet-subinterface based dot1q vlans - or at least that appears to be the bulk of it. I agree with cluther that this appears to be largely cosmetic, but the fact remains that now my event console is absolutely filled with hundreds of these events.
