Almost, but this method uses snmptraps rather than polling, i.e: the monitored 
server is telling Zenoss, almost immediately, when it has a problem rather than 
Zenoss asking every 5 minutes or so.

This is possible with either method, however, the fact that Zenoss is aware 
that there's a problem quicker and starts it's "wait time" sooner means that 
the end of the delay will come sooner, if the problem isn't fixed in this wait 
time you will still get alerted sooner. This delay is set in the alerting rules 
under preferences.
