James,
I was able to get the snmpwalk command to return the information in those mibs;
here's what I had to do:
- Load MIBs in Zenoss in the share/mibs/site/ directory
- Copy MIBs to /usr/local/zenoss/common/share/snmp/mibs in a .txt format
- edit the .bash_profile in /home/zenoss to include the following lines:
MIBS=+CISCO-SMI:CISCO-PRODUCTS-MIB:CISCO-TC
export MIBS
after doing this (and rebooting, I couldn't determine which zenoss daemon to
restart), an snmpwalk shows the correct information for the swtich (output from
zenoss below):
Command: snmpwalk -v1 -c${device/zSnmpCommunity} ${here/manageIp} system
Description:
Output:
==== mgtsw01-393-01 ====
snmpwalk -v1 -cpublic 10.10.151.7 system

However, the HW model still just shows the OID. Just wanted to update this
post since I've been able to get snmptranslate to resolve user-added mibs
without having to specify them in the command.
Based on your previous post, it sounds like I need to keep digging if I want
SNMP polling to work.
