I was able to locate a suitable work around though it's not optimal and I can't explain any technical difference. [Laughing]
I am now operational with Zenoss via the SVN install, just as I have installed a hundered times before this one. The only exception is that I'm running Ubuntu desktop not the server. Not sure how the desktop edition works better than the server edition. I didn't want to load the GUI because of the lack of RAM in the box. I wanted a server edition.. For those of you still suffering, load the desktop edition and it should work... I'm still scratching my head on this one...
