I just noticed that even when zenoss has discovered a host-down, it
will actually still perform the performance-template-checks that is
defined for this host (ie. generate seperate alarms for each of the
templates). Is this a feature or a bug? The performance template
uses a custom command to monitor the device.
I have even put the server in maintenance mode, and I can see that
the other checks that have failed (ie. IOProcess and IPservice)
before zenoss noticed host-down, won't actually be made until the
host is up again.
I'm running zenoss core 2.2.3.
This problem only exists with the data source types that are gathered
by zencommand such as COMMAND as you're experiencing. It's a known
issue and a ticket already exists.
