so get this - i tried the immediately-above regex. got the same results, within about a minute 'process is not running'. but just for grins, i set 'ignore parameters' to *false*. ding! no more 'process is not running'. it's not perfect - killing off an individual instance - even with the 'countprocs' zproperty set true, doesn't trigger an alert. and, the 'status' column on the 'os' tab stays green even when the processes have been killed off - but it *does* generate alerts if they're all killed off. so it's a start.
this further points to a regex issue with the 'ignore parameters' options i think. anyway, i'm testing this for now on just one of our app servers. the reality is, i've never seen these mongrels die on their own, but it's still a business requirement that we at least have that visibility even if they're manually killed off. -------------------- m2f -------------------- Read this topic online here: http://forums.zenoss.com/viewtopic.php?p=32122#32122 -------------------- m2f -------------------- _______________________________________________ zenoss-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.zenoss.org/mailman/listinfo/zenoss-users
