if that were the case, would it not suggest that process monitoring would fail across the board? in my case, process monitoring works fine for virtually all processes i ask zenoss to monitor - it's only these mongrel processes with a specific gem installed that changes the way the mongrel displays its ps output, said output which contains open and close brackets, which are python regex special chars.
