Ok maybe I'm wrong about Zenoss core... anyway I still have some question: 1) How do commercial plugins work? Snmp or wmi is default? I mean: I know that Zenoss use snmp as default but you can force windows server to use wmi as I already did with "http://blog.dastrup.com". Now the question is: does commercial plugins work in the same way? Can I use wmi instead snmp to monitor Exchange and Sql Server but using the commercial (and supported) plugins?
2) Webinject Because webinject is a nagios's plugin, do you think is possible to integrate it with zenoss? I think it would be very cool! I don't know "twill" but I read something about it but webinject seems to be just a little bit more professional. Price comparison. Groundwork is 25000$ for UNLIMETED NUMBER OF DEVICES Zenoss Professional with Gold service Plan is 130$ PER RESOURCE So...supposing to monitor 1000 devices , Groundwork will be always 25000$ instead Zenoss 130x1000=130000$ and, supposing you have a "volume discounts", maybe you can save 10000 or 20000$ but...GROUNDWORK IS DEFINITIVELY CHEAPER THAN ZENOSS. So...what does justify this difference? This is important because I'm planning to migrate to Zenoss Professional but because we are already use "Groundwork open source" someone could ask to me: why don't use Gw professional that is a lot cheaper? What kind of added value does Zenoss offer compared to Groundwork? And I would like to have a good reply so please tell what do you think about it.
