No, changes like you describe are normally done via Zenpacks (if you 
want them to be portable), and you'd reinstall the zenpacks.

The backup and restore are generally for the events database and the 
devices...(and maybe rrd files?)...

If you didn't make your changes via Zenpacks, I don't think there is a 
way to easily copy them over...

Although, I suppose, if you use the same OS etc, you might be able to 
actually copy the entire install directories, plus a sql dump and the 
backup, and restore all of them (but you would also get the devices)...
