I am alerting on a particular Windows Application event that has a rather long Description when viewed in the Windows GUI event viewer. I'd like to be able to handle some of the details from the Event Description in a transform but in Zenoss the event summary is unexpectedly set to "None" instead of what's in the Description field in the Windows event. Other Windows Application events from the same server show the Description details properly in the event summary and message fields. I'm wondering if somewhere the event handling code sets the summary and/or message fields to "None" if the description is too long. I was hoping I could answer the question myself, butI have not been able to find in the code where these events are scraped via WMI.
