Hi all,

Now that we've released a 2.1 stable, we're discussing the API for 3.0.

The goals are:

* To move towards POSIX
* To reduce the complexity of the API used by most applications
* To keep the performance optimizations of the 2.x API

http://www.zeromq.org/docs:3-0 holds the proposals by various people,
mainly Martin Sustrik and myself. Personally I find POSIX
compatibility less important than simplicity at this stage, my main
complaint with the current message API (in C) is that it's too verbose
for simple applications.

Anyhow, this is straw for beating up, so please do discuss.

-Pieter
