BANGLADESH: Father appeals for release of detained DU student Mass communication and journalism student's application to take final exams was approved by government, but student remains in jail The Daily Star Friday, November 2, 2007 Family members of Deen Islam Angel, a second-year student of mass communication and journalism department of Dhaka University who has been detained along with some other students on charge of campus violence on August 20-22, have urged the government to release him. In a press release, Angel's father Idris Ali Sheikh and brother Nazrul Islam have urged the government to forgive him considering his student life. The second year final examination of Angel will resume on November 6.
