Remembering September 11
The day began as usual
And the urban being awoke
Nobody ever thought that life
Would soon be rubble and smoke.
Television clippings flashed
Suicide bombers zoom past
The sky, in loaded planes,
And hitting the Centre of American pride
The American dream crumbled to pieces
And Life became fear,
Panic set in as people
Realized that the truth was up their rear.
The hurt Ego sought revenge
Ignoring several warnings
The means were easily justified
Though it was hard to get them believing
The cause of Democracy, a bad joke,
Was cracked soon after
To evoke sufficient laughter
This war will never come to a close
So long as this world runs on POWER-
Where Survival strategies depend upon means-
MONEY, MUSCLE AND NUCLEAR
this was an old poem written and forgotten and now recollected from memory here... so, it appears a bit clumsy. a few lines.. however i thought it would be worth sharing with the ZESTpoets.
