Windoze is like the tool kit in the garage. You will need it for many things,
but garage is the place to keep it! And when you do need it, a lot of rummaging
is needed to find the correct tool, but it is always there & often reliably
does that special job.
Can't use regularly, unless one loves that search, and the mousing, dragging &
dropping, something like you had to do here!
Cheers!
Sajid

Ok, found it. Just creating a shortcut and adding it to the startup folder
(C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\StartUp) with the command
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Zim Desktop Wiki\zim.exe" --plugin trayicon in it
BIG THANKS!

Hi Hans,
Do you also runi it on Windows? In that case, what exactly do you do? Are you
using Task Schedule?

Well my autostart script and shortcut for manual launching both exec this only:
zim --plugin trayicon
as the doc states, and that's been working fine for me.

I'm sorry but I can't manage to run it minimized on try on a startup.
I am using Task Schedule on Windows 8.1 and I start a cmd with the following
optional arguments: /c start "ZimMini" /min "C:\Program Files (x86)\Zim Desktop
Wiki\zim.exe"
This allows me to open Zim, but it is always maximized.
Any ideas?

Not a Zim issue, just like starting any app at Windows startup, google is your
friend.
Just make sure to include the "trayicon only" flag to the command if that's
what you want.

Thank you so much! I have found the plugin for Windows under
Edit>Preferences>Plugins>Tray Icon
Now I am wondering how can I start Zim wiki on a Windows start but already
minimized. Any ideas?
Thanks!

Yes it is, have you tried it ?
The manual page on this plugin will tell you what the command is to start
hidden.

Jaap

Hello, is it possible to use the Tray Icon plugin on Windows? If not, is there
any trick to start zim hidden in the system tray?
Thanks!
