The missionaries who visit in my home have a question that I cannot answer. It has to do with our temples. I pointed out that according to Joseph Fielding Smith the temple in Jackson County, when it is built, will actually be a temple complex. There will be 12 Aaronic temples, and 12 Melchizedek temples. President pointed out that our modern temples are all Melchizedek temples; but that when animal sacrifice is restored by the Sons of Levi when the offer up a sacrifice in righteousness, it will be in one the Aaronic temples in Jackson County.

Here is the question I cannot answer: Was Solomon's temple an Aaronic temple or a Melchizedek temple? I think it was an Aaronic temple, but I don't remember where I picked up that information. Maybe it was Doctrines of Salvation by Joseph Fielding Smith.

Another question: Were there any Melchizedek temples in ancient times? How about in the early Christian church? Were their sealings or Endowments in New Testament times? If so, were those sealings or Endowments performed in Melchizedek temples?
