RAM caching is useful for "subtemplates." I am not convinced that we should think of "resource level" caching (AHCM or Andy's "bake-to-disk on the fly" solution) in the same framework as the tools like RCM, which are much better suited for caching intermediate results, but don't scale well for entire pages.
RCM is an odd caching system that suits a particular need. Is that a no, this shouldn't be done or just a comment?
