Richard,

I truly did **not** kill that thread because some of the comments in it were
critical of me personally, I killed it because it was  irrelevant to AI, and
in parts (without saying anything about any particular poster; there were
many involved) rambling, childish and unpleasant.

I don't want to lose valuable list members because they get sick of seeing
so many irrelevant, emotionally negative posts.

If you're concerned about defending your reputation against allegations made
against you on this list, I suggest the following:

1)
Post a detailed, clearly-written summary of the allegations you think were
made, and the defense you have, on a blog somewhere.  Many free, easy to use
services are available allowing this.

2)
Post a link on above blog post to this list, and invite people to read it
and comment on it -- but NOT on this list; on the blog itself or on some
other forum.

Perhaps my judgment in killing the thread is wrong; but my reasons are not
"reprehensible" according to standard moral codes.

Arrgh.  I have work to do.
