1) This is what annoys me so much about Debian: their penchant to fork codebases without providing any patches upstream (or reminding the reporter to do so themselves).
2) The patch IMO is a trivial bit of code and is pretty much the most obvious way of implementing this feature in apreq. There is some cruft in there that can be removed, and the FLAG bit probably shouldn't be 14, but otherwise if I wrote this feature myself it's exactly how the code would've turned out. 3) Even if we aren't legally bound to do so, morally we should make an effort to contact the author and get his permission to include + acknowledge his work. ----- Original Message ---- > From: Issac Goldstand <mar...@beamartyr.net> > To: legal-disc...@apache.org > Cc: apreq-dev@httpd.apache.org > Sent: Fri, November 12, 2010 4:59:51 AM > Subject: Re: HttpOnly > > Can someone @ legal confirm for me if we can commit this patch as-is, or > if not, who to contact to get permission? > > Thanks, > Issac > > On 08/11/2010 15:28, Issac Goldstand wrote: > > On 08/11/2010 15:25, Clinton Gormley wrote: > >>>> I see a patch in Debian which does this: > >>>> > >>>> >http://www.mail-archive.com/debian-bugs-d...@lists.debian.org/msg543361.html > >>>> > > > --------------------------------------------------------------------- > To unsubscribe, e-mail: legal-discuss-unsubscr...@apache.org > For additional commands, e-mail: legal-discuss-h...@apache.org > >
