Mine does
that as a message indicator when mail is in the mailbox. You get a
flashing display and a stuttered dial tone for the first few seconds. Dave -----Original

However the four leds under the keypad are permanently illuminated and the
backlight slowly flashes on and off. When I pick up the handset there is a
repeated tone before I get a dial tone. |
