Robert,

A couple years ago, with the help of Scott and this site, I got my
appleTV to run MythTV on MythBuntu 7.10. Everything was great.

When Ubuntu 10.04 rolled around I figured it was time to update my
server which includes my MythTV backend, and assumed that I'd just
upgrade my appleTV to 10.04 as well so the frontend would still be
compatible.

I had trouble with the upgrades so I did a fresh install of MythBuntu
10.04. I've been told and have seen trouble with the memory footprint
of 10.04, but I haven't started working on that problem, because I
can't get smooth playback.

When I use XV I get a stutter every 5 seconds or so and the CPU is
pinned, as is expected. When I use XVMC, and it seems to be using it,
I get a constant stutter, 15 times or so a second, and the CPU is
pinned.

I'm curious if anyone has been successful in installing MythBuntu
10.04. I'm fine starting over and reinstalling, but I'm afraid I'll
end up in the same place. If people have had success upgrading to
10.04, then I'm fine installing an older version, getting it running,
and then upgrading.

Thanks.
