The Baha'i Studies Listserv
Stephen,

I pray every day, in one way or another. So many of the prayers fill me
that it would be impossible to say which are my favorites. I'm very
attached to the Bab's prayer in the shape of a pentacle. I also get great
comfort from the prayers for families, particularly parents as my mother
commited suicide when I was small and all the grandparents who reared me are
now in the next world. This prayer also facilitated the reunion with my
father and healed our relationship. There are phrases in some prayers that
echo through me but I couldn't find them if I wanted to. I guess the
prayers I offer most often are informal appeals for healing, assistance &
comfort and the prayers for the departed -- several times a day, as emails
arrive.

I have no memory of where I heard that comment. It was most likely
conversation in the Ruhi classes or some gathering where the institute
process was being discussed. I know it was early days in encouraging us to
reach out to our family, friends, neighbors and co-workers.

Kathryn
