Well, speaking as the other side, if Bush wins I feel that it will be another 4 years of bungled attempts to fight the War on Terrorism. So we apparently have a choice of 1) surrender to the Terrorists (something I don't think Kerry actually intends and IMHO sounds like a lot of hyperbole) or 2) continue to fight the War on Terrorism incompetently.
