I made
a CFC that acts like an Application CFC. It stores information about the site as
a whole. My CFCs then do this in the constructor area:
<cfinvoke component="cflib" method="getSettings"
returnVariable="settings">
<cfset dsn = settings.dsn>
<cfset dsn = settings.dsn>
Since
the CFC itself is (normally) cached, this is just a one time call.
