I made a CFC that acts like an Application CFC. It stores information about the site as a whole. My CFCs then do this in the constructor area:
 
 
 <cfinvoke component="cflib" method="getSettings" returnVariable="settings">
 <cfset dsn = settings.dsn>
Since the CFC itself is (normally) cached, this is just a one time call.

now, does the Application.cfm file get processed before cfc's get processed.
 
i have application.cfm with my site wide dsn's established in there.
i reference said dsn variable, and its spitting up, saying its not defined?
 
weird.
