you keep forgetting to answer *all* my questions. ;) I'll make a list... * Is the 134 coloured, too? * If you do 'echo -e "$PS1"', does it result in some strange extra characters, too? (Besides printing "\u" for your username etc.) * What happens if you set 'PS1="$"'? * What is the effect if you start screen with 'screen -- /bin/bash --norc'? Regards, Jan
