On further inspection, doesn't this look like something's "capping" my framerate?

$ glxgears
disabling TCL support
853 frames in 5.0 seconds = 170.600 FPS
1000 frames in 5.0 seconds = 200.000 FPS
998 frames in 5.0 seconds = 199.600 FPS
1002 frames in 5.0 seconds = 200.400 FPS
1000 frames in 5.0 seconds = 200.000 FPS
1000 frames in 5.0 seconds = 200.000 FPS
1000 frames in 5.0 seconds = 200.000 FPS
1000 frames in 5.0 seconds = 200.000 FPS

It seems like once the system stabilizes, it stays right at 200fps with
absolutely no fluctuation. That's really strange, no? This hardware is very
capable of 500fps+. Also, the QuakeForge project is still using Mesa Indirect
rendering (software OpenGL, 4fps) while Quake2 uses DRI. That's wierd, too,
isn't it? I'm going to install Q2Hack to get fullscreen working, and see if
PageFlip helps out at all. Any ideas or advice would be much appreciated!
