Hello Steve, Not sure I understand you correctly, but.... The country Window shows what you have Worked, selected for printing a Label, Mailed for a card, or Confirmed. The Mixed, Band, and Mode boxes at the bottom of the QSO window show what you have submitted for DXCC (or other award) credit. They will not change from the two dashes until you submit those QSOs for credit. When you submit them, they will change to S. When the credits have been awarded, you change them to C for Checked by selecting: Reports > Award Flags > Change award flags. For EACH award (mixed, band, and/or mode, whatever those QSOs apply to), under Action, select: Submitted -> Checked. Then, and only then, will you see a "C" for checked in those boxes.
