You will need the KXV3 or -3A to bring out the IF to the P3. The KXV3A is necesary only if you are running the K144XV internal 2m transverter.
There is also a mod listed that increases the IF output to a level that's best for the P3. You can find the mod under K3 Mods and App Notes on the www.elecraft.com web page. If your K3 dates from before about 9/2009, the mod is suggested if the P3 is used.
