Based on Don's suggestion - it would be easy to make up a dongle that one can use when working with the KX3 in data or phone modes. Since the mic input has both audio (left-right channels) and PTT, one can put the resistors Don suggests in a small project box with the female ends (one for normal phone) and the other for digi modes.
