without logging in (via ssh) the shutdown is instant. if logged in then it
waits for some stopped tasks (Gnome-gdm3 et al) for couple of minutes.
can't say exactly, because nothing of that gets into the logs. maybe due to
/var filesystem being already unmounted at the time

That's annoying. Does it allow you to force 1440 x 900 with (for
