hey guys

this absolutely covers the machine every 50 mins to run the 8 parts in there

and i just leave it and come back and push a button again.

swarf doesn't cause any issues and doesn't damage tooling so I leave it

I could also run a spindle fan but it's not worth it. just the sheer
amount of plastic coming off. we will full about 4 80 gallon drums with
plastic in this job and i am trying to keep the mist down so a fan won't
help that

I have dust extraction systems on the cnc router but we are running high
pressure coolant on this cnc mill also and a special air blast under the
parts etc

the plastic buildup doesn't cause a problem so it's staying like that:)
But the vacuum will suck it up and make the tooling wear slower.

If it was stainless i would do something about it

cheers

Nice! I'd love to see the tool change and tool length measure operation.
And maybe clear out more of the chips while it's cutting.

CNC.
Linuxcnc fun

Hey guys I just took this little video today as one of my machines was
running.

It's basically a haas vf3 but maybe a slightly heavier machine

Making 200 of these parts. Takes 13min per part to make 1 finished part.
So about 50min cycle time.

There is not many videos on the Internet showing linuxcnc getting used in
an actual production environment.

So I try to show videos of how good it is.

This job has about 10 different tools and lots of cool stuff to make it
run
smoothly. And it also automatically measures the tools when needed. As
I
am setting up for a job.
I have 4 air blast units under sprockets that blast the chips out when
cutting the inside square.

I just did a quick job and wired the solenoids into a few spare outputs
on
the 7i84 mesa card.

Should have 3 machines running at once tomorrow... fun times

Cheers andrew
