Hi, >> I'm all over this like a nasty rash. Count me in.
Nice..... :) >> I've spent a few days with Audacity, prepping publicity screencasts for >> work, and I baby-sat the college PA system at university, although that >> was many moons ago now. That's more than enough experience! I've got a D in A-Level Music Technology, and its served me well so far! Good to have you on board. > One question: Is it possible to serve both, the audio recording and the > video streaming from it? Just a > question of the person controlling it to start and stop recordings. The mixing decks have multiple outputs, or we could get a Y-cable. As long as we inform the PA guys in advance they can have that set up for us, so we can just plug in. > Also for streaming we of course also need volunteers preferably with a > camera and laptop and a line-in. Windows and Mac would both work.. That's great as long as we can get volunteers. Our current set up is using portable digital recorders, about the size of an older (large) iPod. They can be plugged in, hidden away, and will record non-stop for hours. So require little attension, this mean that I was able to actually go to some talks. The session chairs were asked to keep an eye on them I think, but none went missing. Of course a camera, and laptop will need to be more closely watched. I'm guessing they would require more technical knowledge than "push the record button and leave for 3 hours". > Maybe we can prepare some call for participation on the main list and > the blog and other places early next year. Can I count you in along with Jonathan and myself? Fine by me, having a maximum of 4-5 people would mean that we can easily coordinate our efforts. Getting the session chairs involved would make our lives easier, but that requires coordination with another set of people, which can be tricky.
