Indeed you can, but have you noticed how long kdesu (and the gnome equivalent too) remain resident even if terminated? So I do wonder if even that is wise. When I used kdesu in that fashion I always killed it afterwards. Lately I found it much cleaner to open a terminal window and use `su` only.
