These are stuck in a weird state and I can not fix any of them:
emacs21
emacsen-common
emacs21-nox
Each failed and now I have at least 2 packages reporting dpkg failures and
"archived" (what the heck does that mean anyway, and how to get RID OF
IT?).
The following are also "archived" (related or red herring?):
apt-dev
libjpeg
libjpeg-bin
libpng3
libtiff
libtiff-bin
libxml2
ncurses-dev
pkgconfig
I have already done an update-all and hope this was not a mistake (did it
cause some of these "archived" issues)?
I started using fink 0.8 and then FC 0.5.4 after updating to 10.4.4 and
installing the full Dev Tools - I don't need to pull out my OS X restore
CD's, do I?
I have used fink without issue on tons of Panther systems, so is it safe
to use on Tiger?
Every other install seems to also end with the dpkg error below b/c these
emacs things are "stuck." Before I try messing with unstable pkgs, how
do I fix this or know not to worry?
Here's an example of why it is ANNOYING(!):
