In trying to build plib, it tells me I need glut. No biggie, right? Mesa has that so I'll just build it. I downloaded v5.0.2 and after ./configure, I try making. It explodes instantly with:
../../libtool: s%^.*/%%: No such file or directory
No need for harsh language one would say :-) Maybe you could try freeglut instead:
