Hi,

I'm contemplating making an extra skin for my PBK24
folder. This time I plan to make the hull in panels,
with a seam along each chine,

Here's the procedure I intend to follow:

Assemble the frame and place it bottom-up on saw
horses.

Staple a sheet of paper onto the bottom, and trace its
outline.

Repeat this process for all inter-chine panels.

Using the paper patterns, cut out PVC/polyester panels
with, say, 3/4" overlap at the seams, carefully
marking where the chines occur.

Sew the panels together using a "round stitch" at the
seams, so the extra material is inside the hull.

Place the sewn-together hull over the frame and stitch
bow and stern seams.

Glue strips, say 3/4" wide of PVC material on the
outside of the hull to cover and waterproof the seams.

Then do the deck as usual in canvas.

Any comments, cautionary tales or whatever?

Bill
