Hi, I'm contemplating making an extra skin for my PBK24 folder. This time I plan to make the hull in panels, with a seam along each chine, Here's the procedure I intend to follow: Assemble the frame and place it bottom-up on saw horses. Staple a sheet of paper onto the bottom, and trace its outline. Repeat this process for all inter-chine panels. Using the paper patterns, cut out PVC/polyester panels with, say, 3/4" overlap at the seams, carefully marking where the chines occur. Sew the panels together using a "round stitch" at the seams, so the extra material is inside the hull. Place the sewn-together hull over the frame and stitch bow and stern seams. Glue strips, say 3/4" wide of PVC material on the outside of the hull to cover and waterproof the seams. Then do the deck as usual in canvas. Any comments, cautionary tales or whatever?
