I'm sorry to say that I have seen this as well. In my experience, a single
CP40 will spontaneously reboot every year or two with the 'Memory Parity'
error. I have ten of them, and I have seen it four times in the last two
years. When I called TAC, they offered to replace the CPs, but said that as
long as they successfully reboot, nothing is wrong.

The documentation says that this happens, and you should live with it.
Check out HH549, CARS 4171, 4174, 6125, 5830, 6640 and so on. (go to the
CSC website and search on "memory parity" - the number of cars will scare
you!)

I am tempted to put in a long rant about Foxboro's other problems here, but
I think we have all heard enough of those.

Gents,
I notice a strange malfunction that concerns some of my CP40FT type A
modules. It consists in the following:

*sometimes some single CP modules are stopped. I reboot them manually.
*It happened one time that a CP40FT both modules stopped and a total

Shutdown occured

It was reported to Foxboro, But they always asked to change the CP module!
Recently CAR2000274 was defined. However no feedback yet.

following:

EHSS 000141 Memory Parity Error - NMI Exception 00006C024868
EHSS 000141 Memory Parity Error - NMI Exception 00006C078425

Have someone experienced or resolved a similar malfunction?
What is the root-cause of this?
How can it be resolved?
Is there a chance that another plant shutdown take place due to CP40FT
Shutdown of both modules?

Thanks
