Orly, Regarding your font question, older versions of FrameMaker used to have their own font file. As such, using unique fonts was never too much of an issue if you simply added that font set to the Adobe Font File. Current versions of FrameMaker (2019 and 2020 for certain) no longer use their own font file, they rely on the windows font file. If you have not already done so, make certain you add the Kelson fonts to the Windows font file and you should not have issues with composing the PDF.
Keep in mind, there are several ways to make a PDF file: Save as PDF, Print to PDF, Print to file (postscript file). These are not all equal even though the output is a PDF. As some methods take longer than others, they are processed by different methods within FrameMaker. You may find that complex illustrations compose differently between these various PDF generating methods. By habit, I have always composed PDF files by Printing the document to a file as a postscript file (.ps). I then distill that .ps file with Adobe Acrobat Distiller. This uses the most robust PDF generating process and produces the clearest images. I have also found that special fonts, symbols, or older font sets compose more consistently when I use the .ps method. While this method does take a bit longer, it produces the most consistent and reliable output. I hope this helps. *Sincerely,* *Gerard Conklin | Principal Technical Writer, **User/Operator Content & Products** | Mission Systems* *COLLINS AEROSPACE* 400 Collins Road NE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52498 USA *Tel:* +1 319 263 3173 *gerard.conk...@collins.com <gerard.conk...@collins.com>* | *collinsaerospace.com <http://collinsaerospace.com>* CONFIDENTIALITY WARNING: This message may contain proprietary and/or privileged information of Collins Aerospace and its affiliated companies.
