It does compile, but not with latest GCC 5.2 (which now that I think about it is probably something silly like dialect now defaulting to C11). I tried ancient GCC 2.95.3, and that seemed to compile okay (but not if using -O2, dunno why). Still, the binaries run but don't work properly on this system (with ext3, Lucid Puppy), so it's probably some quirk in my setup (or maybe PEBKAC). ;-) Still good to try this, so thanks.
