In fact there's a reference to that sort of thing in Kingdom of Loathing. 
When you very first start the game you can visit the Altar of Literacy, 
where you have to type the sentence out completely correctly. This is a 
requirement if you ever want to use the in-game chat feature and appease the

ghost of the long dead English language.
