In the us that is true.
here in the Uk and in europe however, hal/supernova is far more used, ---- I
in fact never even heard of window eyes myself until 2003, and that from an
american chap I met online rather than a native British user.
it's all really just swings and roundabouts.
Beware the grue!

jaws, nvda and window-eyes probably have the biggest user base. Oh and we

I personally dislike jaws now since imho freedom scientific is now trying
to get more cash out of people rather than fix bugs and add useful
features but, that's off topic.

Thanks for the advice, everyone! NVDA and System Access are workable,
but clumsy. JAWS is much nicer, it approaches VoiceOver in usability,
but it's incredibly expensive (you could buy a new computer for less).
Of course, I can use it in the free demo mode for my purposes, but do
people really spend so much on JAWS?
I guess the most important question is, what software do people actually
use? I see after a quick inspection that all of these options read my
webpages slightly differently. I don't want to waste time making it
work well with a program that no one uses.
Thanks,
David
