yum install php-gd

I'm curious -- did you use ganglia-web-3.1.3-1.noarch.rpm?  Because if
you installed it via RPM/yum it should pick up the php-gd
dependency...

     At the time I couldn't FIND a recent RPM so I grabbed the highest
version I could find, 3.1.3-1, and rolled my own RPMs from it.
