There is an option in the preferences -> Image tab to switch off two pass rendering. That should solve your problem. Nevertheless, even with two pass rendering, there is never a blank screen in between. Where did you find that? And if you compare two images, only the first render shows the uncorrected image shortly. After that, the image is cached and displayed always colour corrected. If not, there is an old request [0] about that. Please comment and vote it up if your case is not solved by the preferences option.
