I didn't think glx or dri were essential... But since its EE and not WW maybe they are. DRI requires kernel support - Device Drivers -> Graphics -> Direct Rendering Manager, and you'll want to select the correct ATI support under that. Re: glx, what happens if you run 'eselect opengl list'?
