Still, I can format the ESS for MF / Open systems, but I have never had the chance to compare the actual GB available to Open systems compared to the actual available to MVS on the exact same array. Yet having said that, the current server room has a short life expectancy, and guess what I will be doing as part of the de-mantling process... Just exactly that, as well as to see for myself the usage difference/loss with all the raid / PAV options available, there just isn't anything like first-hand experience...
