some of the b-to-b purchase cards do some of this type of stuff ... including translating the statements (both back to the paid to merchant and the paid from customer) into EDI 8xx format.

I.e. a merchant can in a B2B-scenario send an invoice requiring either pre-payment to perform shipping, or this is just another way to pay international low-dollar invoices. I.e. an alternative to Swift or checks. An idea can include minimising the number of merchants - in other words the credit cards of this world would have an ewallet company in each and every country and the card holder pays the ewallet company and uses his ewallet to buy on-line. The online shops need not be online with the card schemes just with the ewallet company to check funds. this might probably be better from a chargeback and security point of view..... kev Kevin J. Do credit-card enabled merchants have any possible way to receive money through the credit-card networks through an off-line operation performed by the customer though his/her issuer? I.e. an account-to-account transaction run in the other direction? That would be terrific! Anders
