Do you have to use ivtvctl --reset-ir before the IR goes unresponsive or
will
it work well enough to bring it back alive after it dies?

It is an awful hack, but I have to run "ivtvctl --reset-ir" every minute
via cron to make sure that
the remote stays up; this works for me. That might tide you over until
the problem is resolved.

Didn't realize that was available. I'll have to check it and see if it
resets properly. I sent Bryan a dump difference of the working/broken
registers. It seems to be mostly an issue after there's been a recording
