If you haven't already added, it, it might be a good idea to add some code to detect the case where the user is upgrading from 0.2.x. As you probably know, it stores it modules in an "extras" folder, and this can get confused with the "ivtv" folder used by 0.3.x.
It took me a while to figure out why I wasn't able to downgrade to 0.2.x, and it turns out to have been that the kernel was still looking in the 0.3.7 "ivtv" folder. If 0.3.x had told me about the change in folder name when installing it, I might have realized that downgrading would be a problem. (It's probably not necessary to go back and make a similar fix to 0.2.x, just a warning in 0.3x would have helped me sufficiently.)
