Hi Curtis,

Thanks for the reply. Comments embedded below.

Please excuse my ignorance of matters Linux. Am relatively new to this but
learning fast.

I think that the frequencies I tried from the previously listed sheet were
different. Will have a play with the ones you posted today. Actually, I'll
hit up some Aussie government sites and see if I can get clear info for the
Sydney area as the one in the link is for Townsville. (Which is several days
drive north of here).

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by this. What should I be looking for
exactly?

The first directory you mention :

/lib/modules/[KERNEL]/kernel/drivers/media/video

has a whole bunch of files with a .ko extension. Are these the modules that
you are talking about? I've included a file with the output from a 'ls -l'
in case that sheds some light. (dirlist1)

I've looked about for a directory similar to "/lib/modules/[KERNEL]/extra/"
but haven't found it yet.

OK, now I am going to appear really stupid. Which file does this ivtvctl
setup go in? This would seem to have a clear possibility of being central to
my problem. The SVideo In on the PVR-350 is not connected as I have no
output of that type from the cable box. I am using SVideo out to my
Television though.

I'll do some searching on the topic of upgrading to the CVS version. Can you
suggest any good tutorial / wiki / site?
